This week in Eurorack, 22 to 28 September 2026. Behringer launched the BCR32 after five years of waiting, Befaco put a price and a release window on ARK, and Buchla moved its Ziggy instrument back to December.
New releases
Behringer BCR32, USB/MIDI controller and sequencer
Behringer has launched the BCR32, the successor to the BCR2000, with an introduction video on its own channel today. It is a USB and MIDI control surface with 32 multi-purpose encoders and 20 programmable buttons, and where the original needed third-party firmware to sequence anything, the BCR32 ships with the ZAQ Audio Zaquencer built in: a polyphonic, 32-step, four-track sequencer with drum and note tracks and 192 stored patterns of four tracks each, plus two independent MIDI controls per track for program change, aftertouch, pitch bend and CCs.
The detail that matters most for a rack is on the back panel. Behringer specifies four CV/Gate and Sync connectors, so the BCR32 drives modular hardware directly rather than through a MIDI-to-CV converter. It also carries one MIDI input and two MIDI outputs with a merge function, so it doubles as a USB-to-MIDI interface, along with an OLED display, two assignable footswitch inputs and USB power. Behringer first announced the product in January 2021, so this has been a long time coming.

Befaco ARK, 40 HP, late 2026
Befaco has put a release window and a price on ARK, the 16-track Eurorack production system it first showed at Superbooth in May. Befaco describes it as a music production computer built around a 16-track canvas that can host CV generators, drum voices, synth voices and several kinds of sampler, with harmony tools built on scales, chords and harmonic relationships. It ships as two parts sold together: ARK-Core at 18 HP, which runs all the DSP and carries the CV, gate and audio jacks, and ARK-Controller at 22 HP, the performance surface. They can be placed in different rows, and the controller can also live in a printed external case, connected to the core by a single USB cable for both power and data.
Measured specifications from Befaco: 40 HP in total, 30 mm deep, roughly 400 g, 270 mA on +12 V and 50 mA on -12 V, with 8 CV/audio outputs, 8 gate outputs, 6 CV inputs, MIDI over TRS, USB-A and USB-C, and a 1.77 inch colour display. Firmware is published on GitHub, and there is an online file manager at Tesseract Modular.
One caution on the price, because the sources disagree. Synthtopia reports $799 USD for the late-2026 release, Gearnews reported €666 including tax in May, and Befaco’s own ARK page states no price at all. Treat the figure as unconfirmed until the maker or a dealer publishes one.

Synthetic Sound Labs Wave Oracle, Model 1910, $489
Synthetic Sound Labs has introduced the Wave Oracle, a multi-function signal visualisation and learning module. It combines an oscilloscope with adjustable timebase and trigger controls, an XY display, Lissajous figures, FFT spectrum analysis, a frequency and musical pitch tuner, level and dynamic meters and audio-responsive visualisations on one panel, with four independent inputs that can stay patched at the same time, plus built-in LEARN lessons covering waveforms, frequency, harmonics, filtering and modulation.
Check the format before ordering: this is a Moog Unit (5U) module, not Eurorack. It is listed at $489 on the maker’s own shop, which showed a single unit in stock when we checked.

Buchla moves Ziggy to December 2026
Buchla has delayed Ziggy, the compact west-coast instrument it had planned to ship in the autumn, to the end of the year. In a statement the company said the extra time went into improving the signal-to-noise ratio, build cost, build quality and the user interface, after feedback from the first unit. Synth Anatomy reports the summer rework also covered customised parts for a better feel under the fingers, and audio, MIDI and power over a single USB-C connection.
As specified, Ziggy centres on a complex oscillator with wavefolding, FM and AM, paired with a low-pass gate that can work as a VCA, a filter, or both. It also includes the Cycler modulation source, an additional LFO, digital effects, preset storage, MIDI, USB and 1 V/octave CV.
